Tutto pronto per una nuova sfida europea all’insegna dell’arte. I fratelli Mazzola, dell’azienda promotrice CO.ME.L. di Latina, annunciano l’uscita del bando della VI edizione del premio internazionale “Premio COMEL Vanna Migliorin - Arte Contemporanea” che vuole richiamare l’attenzione sulle possibilità espressive, estetiche, comunicative e costruttive dell’alluminio.
Tema di questa edizione è la “Sinuosità dell’alluminio”, una caratteristica che ben rappresenta le proprietà della duttilità e della malleabilità del metallo, materiale privilegiato per le opere che si iscriveranno al premio. Sinuosità è anche l’eleganza insita nell’elaborazione artistica, e segno della plasticità a cui si presta l’alluminio per arrivare, infine, a concepire un’opera che susciti l’emozione di una musica.
Si legge nel bando: “[…] il poeta Àngel Gonzàles, nella poesia “Sono Bartók di tutto”, parla di viole sinuose. Quando il tratto segue un andamento ammaliatore diviene come musica. E ci piace immaginare che dietro l’opera dell’artista possa esserci una musica totalizzante come quella di Béla Bartók o che sia possibile ricevere un effetto emozionale simile….
Flessuosità, svolta, giravolta, tornante, serpeggiamento, meandro, ansa: queste le possibilità a cui il metallo si presta, per essere sinuoso e condurci sulle vie dell’arte.”
Una modalità ambiziosa forse, tuttavia l’arte sa ben rispondere alle sfide.
Come quella di abbattere i confini per arrivare a tutti i Paesi che compongono l’Europa. Una scelta ponderata che vede la voglia di condividere l’arte con tutti i popoli del continente. Nelle edizioni precedenti si era circoscritto il campo all’Unione Europea.
Finora, ricordano gli organizzatori, sono stati cinque anni in crescendo, con successi e riconoscimenti talvolta inaspettati: l’ultimo, in ordine di tempo, la selezione del progetto Premio COMEL, e dell’azienda promoter e organizzatrice, tra i più grandi brand del mondo per l’International Corporate Art Awards. Una presenza per nulla scontata che trova giustificazione nell’impegno profuso da anni nell’investire in arte e impresa, valorizzazione degli artisti a livello internazionale, unione tra attività imprenditoriale e attenzione ai bisogni territoriali e alla promozione artistica attraverso le mostre della galleria Spazio COMEL, sede del Premio e di tante esposizioni ed eventi culturali.
La partecipazione al Premio è del tutto gratuita e in palio ci sono 3500 euro per il vincitore della giuria (oltre ad una mostra personale e la pubblicazione di un catalogo della mostra).

All set for a new European challenge of art. The Mazzola brothers, who run the CO.ME.L. company of Latina (Italy), have announced the call of the sixth edition of the International ‘COMEL Award Vanna Migliorin - Contemporary Art’. The Award wants to draw attention to the expressive, aesthetic, communicative and constructive possibilities of aluminum.
The ‘Sinuosity of Aluminum’ is the theme of this edition. Sinuosity is a feature that represents the properties of ductility and malleability of the metal, which is the material of choice for the works that will be submitted. Sinuosity also means elegance, which is intrinsic to the artistic elaboration and is a sign of the plasticity that can be granted by the aluminum, so as to finally conceive a work that arouses the emotion of music.
We read in the competition notice: ‘[…] the poet Àngel Gonzàles, in the poem ‘I’m Bartók of everything’, speaks of ‘sinuous violas.’ When the stretch follows a charming style, it becomes like music. And we like to imagine that behind the artist's work there is an all-encompassing music like Béla Bartók’s or a similar emotional effect...
Flexuosity, turning, twirl, hairpin turn, snaking, meander, bight: these are the possibilities that metal is able to grant, in order to be sinuous and lead us in the ways of Art.’
That’s an ambitious goal, perhaps, but art may well meet the challenges.
One of the challenges could be the one to break down the boundaries and reach all the countries that make up Europe. A conscious decision that sees the desire to share the art with all the peoples of the continent. In previous editions, the range was limited to the European Union only.
The organizers pointed out that, so far, there have been five years in crescendo, in some cases with unexpected successes and awards. The last one, in order of time, was the selection of the project COMEL Award, and of its promoting and organizing company, among the world’s major brands, for the International Corporate Art Awards. A presence that was by no means obvious, justified by the efforts made to invest over the years in art and business, in the promotion of international artists, in the union between entrepreneurial activity and attention to local needs as well as the efforts made to promote art through the exhibitions at Spazio COMEL, the home gallery of the Prize, and in the organization of many exhibitions and cultural events.
Participation in the competition is completely free of charge. The winner chosen by the Jury will receive 3500 euros and will be granted a solo exhibition and the publication of a catalog.
